Having been at the FLUTE-A-THON, the Band Extravaganza and WindWorx end of April and beginning of May, the number of learners involved in music impressed. To be in the foyer of Bellville High School and listen to the orchestras performing gave us a lift! Karl Coetzee, who does all the services and repairs on brass and woodwinds, attended to a few problems on instruments and assisted in this way towards the performances.
To show our appreciation for the hard work of all the Brass and Woodwind teachers, Allmusic is offering all Brass and Woodwind music books in stock at minimum of 10% discount till the end of June.
For this special offer, please visit us in Brackenfell. You will find friendly and professional assistance here.
You are welcome to bring your brass and woodwind instruments for a service and/or repair.
Clarinetists: Use the opportunity to find out more about the wonderful Gleichweit mouthpieces on special!
You will always receive friendly, professional, and affordable service.
Note that we sell and rent both string and wind instruments.
Music in Schools
Click on the link below to find more information on an international Kodaly workshop in Pretoria during the school holidays. This life changing event will empower music teachers to use inspiring music activities in the classroom.

Haydn received the text, which was meant for Handel, just before he left London. He was so inspired by the regular performances of Handel’s music in England that he wanted to compose an oratorio where he could use the compositional techniques that he developed during his very successful career at the Esterhazy palace in Eisenstadt.
The German translation and the English texts were included in the first publication of The Creation. Con Spirito Philharmonic always has the text on PowerPoint during performances for easy listening.

Piano Services
Some teachers are motivating parents to purchase electronic keyboards to learn to play piano, or electronic replicas of a piano. A real Piano offers so much more.
The use of weight to create a proper sound can never be the same on an electronic instrument. The individual character in sound and touch of each Piano - a rewarding experience for the developing pianist - leads to heightened musical sensitivity as well as enhanced listening skills. Aural and special orientation develop as every pitch has a different position on the Piano.
Remember to have your Piano tuned at least once a year to maintain its good condition. Douglas Johannie, our Piano tuner, has more than 40 years’ experience and tunes Pianos by ear, as professional tuners do.
No electronic device can ever replace the balance of sound that the well-trained ear of a piano tuner can.
We are often called to correct the tuning of so-called ‘Piano tuners’ who use electronic tuning devices and by doing so mess up the balance in sound. Clients then must pay twice to get the Piano on pitch again.
It is always good to check the credentials of a Piano tuner before allowing him to touch your valuable instrument.
To rent a Piano for the beginning is a better option than purchasing an electronic keyboard. We still have a few rental pianos to choose from.
Because Pianos can be recycled, they are not a thread to the environment.
In our well-equipped workshop, we refurbish Pianos, respray cabinets where necessary and make sure that you have a reliable instrument to use.
For any enquiries, or to book a time to tune your instrument, give us a call (021 981 5551).
